Holiday Sorting

The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle needs volunteers help sorting through holiday food drive donations, so that we can distribute food in a timely manor to our community partners and get the food into the hands of those who need it most. This holiday season we anticipate over 10,000 pounds of food drive donations coming into the warehouse. Up to 6 volunteers can help us sort through these donations in 2 hour shifts. Food drive donations get allocated to several of our distribution programs including BackPack Buddies, After school Snacks, Mobile Markets, and Grocery Bags for Seniors programs.

Sorting shifts:

  • Friday, November 17th from 1:30 – 3:30 PM
  • Thursday, December 7th from 1:30 – 3:30 PM
  • Friday, December 8th from 1:30 – 3:30 PM

Age Restrictions: Must be at least 8 years old to volunteer.  If under the age of 16 years old, must be accompanied by an adult.

Schedule: Contact Volunteer Manager, Abbey Riesett at (919)390-1968 or Volunteers@foodshuttle.org to schedule.

About Inter-Faith Food Shuttle

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is an innovative hunger-relief organization serving seven counties in and around the Triangle. We believe hunger IS fixable if the community works together to do two things: create sources of healthy food in every low-income neighborhood and grow opportunities for people to provide for themselves by learning job skills or growing their own food. From BackPack Buddies to nutrition education, mobile markets to culinary job training to urban agriculture training, we go directly to people in need and create what works to empower them. We feed. We teach. We grow… to create a hunger-free and healthy community.
