Help 2 people at once – Caregiver Support Program

Volunteers provide support to families that are caring for a loved one with dementia or a disabling condition. The Center’s Caregiver Support Program provides two services 1) Companionship to someone who should not be left alone 2)Respite or “time off” for primary caregivers who need to focus on their own health and well-being. Respite volunteers can visit or share activities for 2-4 hours with someone coping with stroke, Alzheimer’s, MS, visual impairment or such. Volunteers are generally given a steady assignment to a particular family to develop relationships.
