Community Wide Sweet Potato Baggin’ Event

Please join the annual community wide sweet potato bagging event starting at 9:00 am on Saturday, Feb. 24. It will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Parish Catholic Church, 520 W. Holding St. in Wake Forest. We will be bagging at least 40,000 pounds of sweet potatoes that were grown on former NFL player Jason Brown’s First Fruits Farm near Louisburg.

No experience necessary. All ages welcome.

The event is sponsored by the Society of St. Andrew – Carolinas (SoSA) which coordinates gleaning and bagging of produce throughout the mid-South. The bags will be picked up by dozens of food pantries covering much of central North Carolina.
