Community Gardening Workday

Volunteer at the Camden St. Learning Garden downtown Southeast Raleigh. The Camden St. Learning Garden is a community space. There are 10 community garden beds, a food forest with fruit trees, honey bees, composting system, greenhouse, and soon to be outdoor kitchen space. We offer educational workshops and field trips to teach kids where their food comes from. Volunteers are needed to help with weeding, mulching, turning compost, planting, and harvesting in the garden.

Contact Abbey Riesett, Volunteer Manager at Volunteers@foodshuttle.org or (919)390-1968 to schedule your workday in the garden.

About Inter-Faith Food Shuttle

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is an innovative hunger-relief organization serving seven counties in and around the Triangle. We believe hunger IS fixable if the community works together to do two things: create sources of healthy food in every low-income neighborhood and grow opportunities for people to provide for themselves by learning job skills or growing their own food. From BackPack Buddies to nutrition education, mobile markets to culinary job training to urban agriculture training, we go directly to people in need and create what works to empower them. We feed. We teach. We grow… to create a hunger-free and healthy community.
